What is a Cooperative?

Have a stake in the success of your agronomy and animal health partners

Valley Farmers Supply has been a cooperative since our founding in 1938. While our services have expanded and our footprint has grown in Montana, we remain a community-focused. We encourage you to join our team of co-op members and have a more active role in our operations and success.

What is a cooperative?

A cooperative is a business that’s owned and controlled by the people who use its services. The members of the cooperative have a stake in the profits generated by the business, which are distributed based on how much each member uses the services.

What does it mean to join the cooperative?

Our team is composed of the farmers, ranchers, animal breeders and other agriculture professionals, who patronize our stores and receive supplies from our company. When you do business with Valley Farmers Supply, you get more than expert advice and top-quality products. You get the chance to have a personal role in our business.

As a cooperative member, you are part of the ownership of your agronomic, animal health and refined fuels partner. Members are even eligible for our Patronage Refund. At the end of the fiscal year, we issue cash or equity allocations. The total refund depends on how profitable Valley Farmers Supply was that year, and we allocate refunds based on how much business each member did throughout the year.
